Coronavirus in Georgia!!!
The ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 (formerly called the 2019 novel coronavirus) in China and some neighboring countries has led to unprecedented efforts to isolate, control, and halt the spread of the virus that has now infected more than 73,400 people, and caused at least 3,000 deaths since December of 2019. Across much of China, travel is restricted and residents remain in their homes, and the economy is taking a big hit at local, national, and global levels.
Now as we know it, the Coronavirus has struck here in Georgia with 2 confirmed cases. At a press conference reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gov. Brian Kemp and state officials said that two state residents from Fulton county tested positive for the virus after returning from a trip to Italy, which is experiencing a significant outbreak.
Georgia’s announcement comes a day after the first case was reported in New York and as a half-dozen people in Washington state have died from the virus. Tens of thousands of people have been reported with the disease worldwide, and it seems to escalate as each day passes.
Where does this leave Georgia in the coming days, weeks, and months? Honestly who knows… We pray that the CDC and all health officials are doing their job at the best of their ability and the virus outbreak is resolved but there is so much more that each one of us that provide a product or service can do.
So what does all this have to do with Video Production / Marketing? This is a tremendous opportunity to capitalize on your sales if you provide products or services that help element or prevent the virus from affecting others. Even tho this is a horrible outbreak that no one wants, we all must do our part to help stop the virus from spreading. If our products or services do so, then we must do what we can to market in a way that connects with the audience and expresses the importance of why our products or services in needed. Does your product prevent air to air contact with a carrier of the virus? Does your product clean the air of your home or work place? Does your service help control the outbreak from spreading? The list goes on and on…
The point is, we as companies that have a product or service that helps control this issue, must step up and do a better job of marketing the importance of the products / services that is offered that will help element this virus outbreak….
Whether you live in Georgia, California, or Italy. This outbreak is not over and each one of the health care providers, manufactures, product suppliers, or service providers must wrap their heads around how to get out in front of this issue and implement a marketing strategy delivers exactly what is needed to prevent the continuing of this nasty virus.
Where does that leave us? We must educate, provide, and eliminate in order for this to end….
